This first year is dedicated to exploring the world's oceans, seas and waterways. Students will discover the richness of marine ecosystems, the cultures that live in symbiosis with the sea, and biblical stories linked to water, the source of life. This section will also highlight the environmental issues involved in preserving marine environments, echoing the diocese's calls for the protection of Creation.
⸻⸻ Science & World Discovery
Study of the oceans, marine currents, natural phenomena such as tides and storms. Explore marine biodiversity, from emblematic species to the most endangered. Reflect on actions needed to preserve marine ecosystems, encouraged by diocesan environmental protection initiatives.
⸻⸻ Geography
Mapping the major seas and oceans, studying coastal countries, understanding environmental issues linked to the sea, such as pollution and overfishing. Participation in projects linked to the diocese, such as campaigns to raise awareness of ocean protection.
⸻⸻ Literature & Arts
Reading of seafaring stories, tales and legends linked to the sea. Artistic expression inspired by seascapes (painting, sculpture, poetry), with works exhibited at diocesan events.
⸻⸻ Pastoral dimension
Reflection on the symbols of water in the Bible (the flood, baptism), the importance of water as a source of life and purification. Raising awareness of the need to protect this divine resource, in connection with diocesan initiatives to raise ecological awareness.
